Golden Milk Recipe 🌟

A warm, soothing Ayurvedic-inspired drink made with turmeric, ginger, and spices. Perfect for evenings or when you need a comforting boost.

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, or coconut)
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric (or 1 tsp fresh grated turmeric)
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger (or ½ tsp fresh grated ginger)
  • Pinch of ground black pepper (helps absorption of turmeric)
  • 1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup (to taste)
  • Optional:
    • Pinch of cardamom or nutmeg
    • ½ tsp coconut oil or ghee
    • Small piece of fresh turmeric root

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: In a small saucepan, add the milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and coconut oil/ghee (if using).

  2. Heat gently: Warm over medium-low heat, whisking frequently. Do not let it boil — heat until hot and steaming (about 5 minutes).

  3. Sweeten: Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup.

  4. Strain & serve: Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a mug. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

  5. Enjoy: Drink warm.

Tips

  • Make it frothy: Use a milk frother or blend briefly after heating.
  • Golden paste method: For stronger flavor, pre-make a turmeric paste (turmeric + water + black pepper) and store in the fridge.
  • Variations: Add a pinch of cayenne for heat, or vanilla extract for sweetness.

Pro tip: Black pepper is key — it significantly increases the bioavailability of curcumin in turmeric.
